Thank you for your interest in participating in the Diocese of Lexington's Mission Cooperative Program. The Society for the Propagation of the Faith Mission Cooperative Program (MCP) is a means to instill missionary zeal and to inform the people of the Diocese of Lexington of the work being done by missionaries throughout the world. Under the direction of the Bishop, each year selections are made from close to 250 letters requesting admission to this program from mission societies, dioceses, religious orders and lay mission groups that wish to participate in the MCP for that particular year. Approximately 15 missionary organizations are selected annually to participate.
Our usual practice is to give priority to the religious congregations that may have ministered to the diocese and admit others we can reasonably accommodate. The Diocese of Lexington is a mission diocese and as such, we rely on funding from sources outside our region, giving us a deep appreciation of your desire to share your good works with our parishes.
2021 Mission Cooperative Progam is Suspended
The practical difficulties involved with travel and other Covid-19 pandemic related issues has resulted in our suspension of the Mission Cooperative Program for 2021. We will continue to promote the missionary nature of our faith and the awareness of mission activities throughout the Church during this time. We encourage you to apply to participate in the program in 2022.
