Those in attendance were Jill Heink (minutes, articles), John Mitchell (LED), Jenny Poole (newsletter), Pat Johnson (library), Joe Groves (web), Ron Wedding (Chair)
The meeting opened at 7:00 PM with the May meeting prayer.
There were no corrections to the minutes from March 2014.
Website/Social Media – Joe reported that the Web Committee is trying out Dropbox (an online “cloud” storage service) to store homilies. This will save space for other website activities. The committee is also working on setting up a daily scripture message. Kathy Meikel sends out a message, and has agreed to let the committee use hers. Ideally, her post will go out directly on the website – stay tuned! We continue to link to Otto Piechowski’s theology blog through the website. Hits on the MQ website are growing and are from all over. With Fr. Arock and Fr. Miguel here, we see many international hits from India and Honduras. Jill reported that the Facebook page has over 200 likes and thus far, there have been no problems with anyone posting any inappropriate comments.
CD Rack – Melissa Sloan e-mailed to say that the CD’s continue to do well. She has recently re-stocked the English language CD’s. Jill will contact Walter Leachman to see if the cost of the CD’s is breaking even with donations. John noted that Jack Spring unlocks the CD cash box and turns in the proceeds from the sales
Info Center/Bulletin Board - Everything is current on the Bulletin Board. The Info Center appears to be neat and tidy. Jenny did have a couple who requested a registration form while she was staffing the center after Mass recently.
Outdoor Sign – has been kept current. Ron noted that the sign is wobbly. He has contacted Gabbard sign about coming out to check on the sign. Ron thinks the sign will need to be reset in concrete.
Library – going well. Overdue notices went out and should get responses. Pat has reliable helpers. Pat noted that she does not get any CD’s from the rack, so we assume people keep them or circulate them among friends and family. Pat has recently received several copies of Rome Sweet Home by Scott & Kimberly Hahn.
Suggestion Box – had not checked the box lately, no report.
Newsletter –The May newsletter is out already. Jenny noted that Diocesan Publication is doing a better job on processing photos in the newsletter and is also getting the newsletter printed faster. The next deadline is June 13.
LED Screen and A/V – The display monitor is now has a hard wired internet connection, so there is no delay with presenting online video.
Bulletin – No report. The committee did look at some bulletins that committee members brought back from visits to FL and GA. General consensus is that the color has added a nice touch to the bulletin, we have heard other favorable comments. The bulletin deadline seems to be working out OK.
Upcoming Events:
Time and Talent responses – Some responses have been turned over to committee chairs (Ron has received the list of those interested in Habitat for Humanity, and Pat knew that the St. Vincent de Paul Society has received a list of folks who are interested.
Next Meeting The next meeting is scheduled for June 16, 7 PM.
