Members present: John Mitchell, Ed Shuman, Jim Fritz, Joe Groves, Jaime Hipolito.
At the January meeting, it was recommended that we recruit a member of the Hispanic community to be an active member of this Web Committee. Jaime Hipolito has volunteered to help in representing our Hispanic Committee for the website.
We welcomed Jaime and discussed many ways in which our Hispanic brothers and sisters could be best represented on and assist with the Mary Queen website. Jaime will begin by getting with others in the Hispanic community and submitting some articles of interest to them. He will do this as soon as possible. He will be recruiting others to help him with translations between English and Spanish
A discussion ensued about the possible redesign of the website to make it better accepted. Joe Groves is considering how to best setup a style book to help make our web pages more uniform. Ed Shuman will be helping Joe with this. Joe has already begun by modifying some of the fonts on our homepage.
The discussion moved to talk about the inclusion of a graphic background for our homepage. It was discussed that we ensure the image either not be copyrighted or that we have permission of the copyright owner to use it.
Further discussion centered on attempting to create uniformity of design. We will try to get together with all who are working on web pages for our Parish.
At our January meeting we discussed a goal of “letting the Parish members know about the diversity of opportunities in our parish as well as the diversity of individuals in our community.” Another goal of “disseminating the information about the website more widely on parish documents to as to improve the awareness of parish activities” suggested.
John will email better guidelines for writing goals to our members. We will continue the setting of goals at our March meeting. After that we will discuss the setting of objectives detailing how we can meet our goals.
Next meeting: Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 7:30 pm, 3228 Cornwall Drive.
