Classes for Children Faith Formation classes are offered for children as follows:
Pre-School (age 3 ½ - 5)
Kindergarten & 1 st Grade
2 nd Grade (sacramental preparation for 1 st Reconciliation and 1 st Communion)
3 rd, 4 th, & 5 th Grades
Faith Formation classes for children are offered on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. in the Wethington Parish Center.
Each class is staffed by two Catechists (and Catechetical Assistants as needed). All classes utilize the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies curriculum to provide a lectionary-based approach to faith formation. Scripture and Catechism lessons are enhanced with crafts, play acting, games and discussion.
Classes for Youth Faith Formation classes are offered for youth as follows:
Middle School (6th, 7th, & 8th Grades)
High School (9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th Grades)
Classes meet within the context of the Sunday evening Youth Group meeting from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Wethington Parish Center. These groups utilize the LifeTeen curriculum to provide a relational approach to faith formation. In addition to catechesis, the youth group also provides community building, service learning, and praise and worship. The evening youth classes occur only during the school year, September through May.
All classes receive diocesan mandated Safe Environment lessons throughout the year as well.
