EARLY CHILDHOOD RELIGIOUS FORMATION (ages 2-K) is a structured religious educational program for children in the parish who will be 2 years old by October 1st through the age of 6 years, provided the child is not entering 1st grade in the fall. The program is designed to give young children an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate The Good News, one another, and the world around them. Each week there is an age appropriated lesson for each of the classes. As a way to reinforce and complement the lesson the children participate in group activities, Bible stories, craft projects, learning prayers, parties/celebrations, and a variety of other activities. There is a $50 fee per student each year for all Religious Formation programs. Classes are held in the Education Life Center on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45. Catechists (Teachers) age 18 and up direct the lessons following a complete teachers manual and syllabus. Classroom Aides (Children who have been Confirmed through Adult age) help the catechists to teach by taking attendance, handing out material,s and other activities as needed. Catechists and Classroom Aides are always in demand. No previous experience is required, only a desire to share the Good News with Christian witness. Training sessions and workshops are held for volunteers and all materials are provided. Catechist Certification training is also available.
